    What Be Your Nerd Type?
    Your Result: Social Nerd

You're interested in things such as politics, psychology, child care, and peace. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a hippie, but some of you may be tree-huggers. You're the type of people who are interested in bettering the world. You're possible the least nerdy of them all; unless you participate in other activies that paled your nerdiness compared to your involvement in social activities. Whatever the case, we could still use more of you around. ^_^

    The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

    Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about others than concerned about self, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more rebel than traditional, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more extroverted than introverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are adventurious (100%), adventurous (80%), romantic (71%), intellectual (67%).

    Stereotypes
    Hippie70%
    Punk Rock67%
    Young Professional65%

    Life Experience
    Sex23%
    Substances5%
    Travel22%

    Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 73% of the time.
      Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Middle Class. You make more than -0% of those who have taken this test, and 100% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated G.
By the way, your hottness rank is 55%, hotter than 78% of other test takers.

    The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to good manners and elegance.

In love, you feel the most alive when everything is uncertain, one moment heaven... the next moment hell.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

    Hmm. Whatever.

Well, I figure I'll update this thing again.

Spent 2 days traveling to Nebraska, got there on the 24th. Spent most of the car ride either playing GBA and finishing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (and then restarting Metroid Fusion) or reading either Jazz or The Poisonwood Bible. I still haven't finished Jazz yet; I'm not too impressed by how it's going so far. It's not bad, just not as good as Beloved. Poisonwood Bible, on the other hand...sweetness. Probably my second favorite book ever, behind only A Prayer for Owen Meany. It's really a fascinating story, and is much easier to read than it's page count would suggest. There's so much in there though...I can't wait until we talk about it in class. I don't think I've ever been this excited about discussing a book. (Yea, so I'm being a bit of a nerd...it shows sometimes, I guess). I started it on the 24th, and finished it on the 26th. Yes, I pretty much read through Christmas. That's how good it was. Read it. Now.

On a side note, Kirk may not like it...tough.

Spent some quality time with both sets of grandparentals, who are getting up there in age. They're pretty much all at least 70, and they don't really have major health problems (as in, life-threatening). They were talking about their families one day, and I realized my extended family has a very long lifeline. Practically everybody lived or is living until at least 80, on both sides. Bodes well for me, I guess...heh.

Got a few applications done also, and looked over a few other essays...all in all a very productive yet fun vacation.

As far as Christmas goes, I got some luggage (which was crazy expensive and is crazy spacious, so that makes up for the luggageness) from the grandparents as kind of a Christmas/graduation present. Also, a neat puzzle 365-day calender, some candy, the book Dracula, an iTunes gift card, some awesome gloves and a very heavy, very awesome winter coat (I'll definitely need that one for college), and a new toothbrush, not to mention The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii that we still don't have yet. Oh, the anticipation...

    Happy New Year to everyone!

So I'm about to leave for Nebraska. I'll try to update sometime when I'm there. Catch you cats later.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
    2:09 am
    New post from Spencer...craziness.

I really do mean to update this thing more often, I just never get around to it.

Ahh, Christmas...Can you believe it's our last Christmas before college? Our last Christmas together?

I've known most of you guys for about 4 and a half years...some longer, some shorter. And those 4 and a half years have been the best of my life. I don't want to make this sound like a farewell, because we still have a lot of time yet. I'm in the Christmas spirit I guess...what can I say.

Yesterday I said I wasn't ready for Christmas. I am now. I had so much to do last night, and I still have so much to do, but something has changed. I feel a little accomplished, since I got all my family's presents in one day (with the exception of some mixed iTunes CD's), and numerous presents for friends. But I don't think that's it completely. I don't know what it is.

I've had a couple things on my mind for a while, and they're sort of related to the Christmas spirit, so let me get them off my chest. First of all--Kirk. The thought first came to me when, at the choir concert, I saw him and pretty much his entire family. And, at the same time, one of the other guys in the choir said, in kind of a disparaging tone, "Look, it's Kirk Surber." Nothing against you guys who didn't come--but it really means a lot to me that he made an effort to. I think he gets a bad rap among many people. The guy's got a good heart, at least most of the time. I don't like it when people take for granted that what he says or does is bad. Being a social outcast, even if and perhaps especially if a person means to be, doesn't mean that what he or she does isn't worth anything. I think he and Elgin are put, socially, in the same category, and perhaps they deserve to be. But please, don't dismiss them automatically. Kirk's my friend, and will be until we lose touch. He tries to be friends with people who have different opinions than he does, and who sometimes treat him slightly less than civilly. At the end of the day, isn't friendship what matters?

Secondly--The Pursuit of Happyness. I liked the movie. Quite a bit. I think it did a good job of portraying the problems that a poor family goes through. And that's what I want to talk about. That story is pretty much proof positive that the generally conservative view that welfare programs are a waste of time and money (no offence to you, Berta, or any other conservatives who read this--it's the stereotypical view, I know, but still) is a little screwed up. (I resisted the urge there to put f****d up, because that's about how strongly I feel about this) It didn't say in the movie whether they were getting welfare payments or not, but either way--they were working as hard as they possibly could, and barely getting along. How is that fair? I'm not saying that in our country, we can possibly avoid every instance of that happening, but welfare for the poor is a step in that direction. So on this Christmas, think about the people who are less well off than you. It really struck me during the movie. That family would never be able to afford something like a Wii. And here I, and other people, are unhappy about not getting whatever it is that we're not getting. That family would be lucky to get a quarter of the stuff most of us will receive. This is part of the reason I wish I had the right personality for politics. I'd really like to get into politics and make a difference for good, but I'm not cutthroat like that. I don't have certain abilities that I would need. Alas...

It's late, and I know I'm rambling a little bit. I want you guys to know that you've made a difference in my life. And whether or not you get me a Christmas present, that's all I really need. (presents are, however, welcome...heh)

I hate America more than Ammon
Your 'Do You Want the Terrorists to Win' Score: 98%

You are a terrorist-loving, Bush-bashing, "blame America first"-crowd traitor. You are in league with evil-doers who hate our freedoms. By all counts you are a liberal, and as such cleary desire the terrorists to succeed and impose their harsh theocratic restrictions on us all. You are fit to be hung for treason! Luckily George Bush is tapping your internet connection and is now aware of your thought-crime. Have a nice day.... in Guantanamo!

What American accent do you have?
    Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I know you're all just dying to hear what happened with my keyboard a few nights ago. Basically, one of my dad's collegues waited until the very last night to finish his tenure application. Then, following that brilliant plan, he proceeded to spill Coke on his keyboard. So he had to call us, and see if he could borrow our keyboard. No posting for me, you say?

Enter Microsoft Word and it's insert command. The only bad thing about it was, typing a sentence took me like a minute, at least. Also, I couldn't use iChat, because you have to send messages using the Return key. Oh, and (OK, so there were a few bad things) I couldn't play any games that use the keyboard.

So anyway, the last few days have been filled with much gaming and general awesomeness. Terrific fun, we must do it again soon.

Poor Livejournal...my Xanga seems to have taken it over. I was looking at my previous entries, and saw that I had two months between entries, and then another two months before the next one. That's really too bad, I ought to start updating it more.

    You fit in with:
    Normal

You don't really fit into any highschool stereotype: you're pretty much normal. Hovering somewhere in the middle between non-conformity and conformity, you're your own person ... within the group.

What will happen on the first day of school?
    QuizGalaxy.com
    • Roberta will come to school drunken and fall into a garbage can
    • Brittney will break up with their SO to go out with you
    • Ammon will skip the first day... and probably the second
    • Caitlin will cry about summer being over
    • Michael will push you into a locker and then scream 'death to tyrants'

'What will happen on the first day of school?' at QuizGalaxy.com

hah...I like this one, most of you know why... ;-)

I think I'll get another one, to try to get some new options.

What will happen on the first day of school?
    QuizGalaxy.com
    • Roberta will eat their lunch and yours while tearfully recounting their summer
    • Brittney will bitchslap your teacher when they give you detention
    • Ammon will invite you to be their alter-ego superhero sidekick
    • Caitlin will bite you in the butt
    • Michael will run around in circles to celebrate the first day of school

'What will happen on the first day of school?' at QuizGalaxy.com

Now, that one is pretty hilarious...just the image of Brittney doing that is hilarious.

I'm realizing I'm using this less and less and less and less...etc...so I figure I'll update it now. Life is pretty good for me, I'm enjoying it. Murrah won, and I'm getting closer with you-know-who...so that's good. When something monumentous happens, as I hope it eventually does, I'll let you know. Until then..."so long, farewell, aufwiedershen, don't let the door hit you on the way out." That is how the song goes, isn't it?

    What don't you remember?
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your LJ and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

    Mostly Hobbes

You are 20% Calvin and 80% Hobbes
You've got elements of both Calvin and Hobbes, but over all, your sensible side wins out over your wild streak, and you tend toward the tiger. As the picture below indicates, the head is the first place that people usually turn to the darkside (i.e. Calvin): symptoms include irresponsible behavior and crazy ideas. You're liable to both. But beneath that you have a heart, a sensitive side, and this more often than not carries the day.

My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
    free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 6% on calvin

You scored higher than 86% on hobbes

So that doesn't surprise me. It's time for a looong update...

OK, first of all, I can't log into my Xanga. Don't know why, but I haven't been able to for about the past 2 weeks. It's really weird. I told Michael to try on his computer, and it worked, but it hasn't worked on mine...is it because my computer sucks? I don't know.

Mu Alpha Theta a couple thursdays ago was fun, we did pretty well, beating all but JA, JP, MC, and NWR...that's too many acronyms, but oh well. Writing Ammon's speech was great, writing mine less so, and ACADEC that friday and saturday was really cool. We came in 3rd, but if we'd actually studied, we would have gotten 2nd, and if we'd gotten our stuff earlier, probably 1st. I'm feeling really good about next year...we're goin to HAWAII, baby!!

The next week of school was kinda cool, i found out on monday that i'd gotten a 100 on my APUSH DBQ, and on Wednesday made a 102 on my test...which brought my grade up to a...95!! Sweet awesomeness!

Friday was really cool, because we didn't do much in school, played Sceneit Jr. in Oliva's class, which was fun, and watched The Wizard of Oz in APUSH...sometime I'm gonna play Dark Side of the Moon to that movie to see what it sounds like. After that came a great game (or few games) of Ultimate Frisbee, what with Powell and Jones out there. If only Oliva'd come too, that would have been great. Then it was to Oliva's, with Matt, Jerrell, Roberta, Alex, Ian, and Bennie, where we ripped out doors, cabinets, and tile for the evening. Spent the night at Oliva's, and spent practically all of the next day ripping out tile. Destructing stuff is fun, but when you're hammering and using a flathoe for hours, it gets a little tiring.

For the next few days, I attempted to find a time that Michael, Brittney, and I could all work on TSA, but that didn't work out. Today I went canoeing with Michael, Kirk, Kirk's family and Kirk's friends...it was really fun. We (one of his friends and I) only tipped over once, and that was only because we were trying to help other people who had tipped. We really sucked at first, we could barely keep the canoe turned the right way, but we eventually got the hang of it. It was cold water.

So now I'm home, hoping Xanga starts working again, doing college things, putting off homework...you know, the usual. Fun fun fun.
